Kristen and Julian’s Wedding

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on April 19, 2017 in Weddings | No Comments

The Marty Leonard Chapel is a stunning work of architecture/art located in Fort Worth. I have been fortunate enough to photograph several lovely weddings there of all shapes and sizes. We even got to see two of our close friends get married there in 2013! It’s a stunning venue that can accommodate a large or intimate wedding.

Kristen and Julian were married in front of their dearest friends and family members. I’ve known Kristen since moving into the dorms (way too long ago now) at UT Arlington. It was a true honor to be chosen to photograph her and Julian’s wedding journey. The day started by photographing some simply lovely details. Their ceremony was short, sweet, and officiated by Kristen’s family pastor (which added a very personal touch). We had more than enough time for family portraits and were able to head over to the Kimbell Art Museum for a few more bride and groom portraits after shooting at the chapel! The reception was at Texas de Brazil (YUM!) and was as easy going as the whole wedding day was.

Congratulations to Kristen and Julian as they venture out into the next chapter of their life!

I may start repeating myself, but I think it’s so important for modern couples to keep their wedding true to themselves. Kristen and Julian wanted no fuss and to enjoy their wedding their own way.

Our first Marty Leonard Chapel wedding took place in 2013. It’s always an amazing experience to return to a venue after several years with more knowledge (and better equipment!). Like any craft, photography is definitely a journey of constant growth and change.

Scott and Kassie’s Rio Grande Valley Wedding

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on April 12, 2017 in Weddings | No Comments

Scott and Kassie’s wedding day took place in Kassie’s hometown of Mercedes, TX, so it’s so exciting to be able to say that I’m a Rio Grande Valley Wedding Photographer! Kassie and Scott are the epitome of a fun loving couple, basically everything I hope for when I photograph weddings. I yearn for laughter and joy and couples who stay true to themselves.

Check out their engagement session here!

Scott, Kassie, and I go way back as I met them while working for a restaurant in Flower Mound several years ago. Scott is a fine art painter and excellent craft bartender, and Kassie is a professional counselor. I remember Scott actually saying he was ready to settle down with Kassie pretty soon after meeting her!

The wedding day started at Kassie’s parents’ ranch where hair and make-up were being done. Kassie was surrounded with so much love from her girls. The groomsmen got ready with Scott and Kassie’s pups in tow. The weather was a breezy 80 degress and with a rain forecast, and we were literally outrunning a line of rain clouds when the most stunning double rainbow appeared. I immediately interrupted bridal party photos and quickly posed Kassie and Scott for some of my favorite bride and groom photos ever.

The ceremony took place at the First National Ballroom patio with hand written vows and lots of happy tears (including my own). The party got started after family photos and featured a fantastic Grammy-nominated mariachi band, and everyone danced the night away.

Kassie and Scott, thank you a million times for being so incredible and for inviting us out to your hometown in the Rio Grande Valley. And thank you for the recommendation to eat at Laredo Taco Company! We stayed in Padre for a few days after and went there several times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. YUM! They need to open one in Dallas! I digress. Tacos can be distracting. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness to Kassie and Scott!

Ben and Cassidy’s Wedding at The Milestone

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on April 5, 2017 in Weddings | No Comments

Ben and Cassidy’s wedding at The Milestone was a wonderfully wintry, black tie affair. The Milestone is a mansion venue located in Krum, TX. Cassidy wanted a 100% traditional wedding day and had been dreaming of the moment of Ben’s reaction when she was walked down the aisle. Be sure to scroll down and see one of my favorite groom reactions to date. Their wedding colors were black and gold, which was so unique but perfectly complimented their wintry wedding. The color scheme also added a timeless element to their day. The wedding day went by incredibly smoothly, and we had many opportunities to utilize the beautiful lighting that occurs at The Milestone.

They were both surrounded by so much love from both their friends and family all day that it was contagious.

Cassidy’s Bridal Session at The Milestone

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on March 29, 2017 in Bridal | No Comments

The Milestone in Krum, TX is a wonderful location for bridal portraits and for weddings! The Milestone bridal photos feature Cassidy who had a black tie wedding on the Thursday before New Year’s Eve. We were very excited about the opportunity to shoot there and loved getting to work with Cassidy, Ben, and both of their families. Enjoy Cassidy’s bridal photos!

Cassidy was such a beautiful bride, and it was wonderful getting to know her and her family as we took these portraits! Her mom, Lori, said they’re a bunch of fun, silly people, and we really loved getting to shoot this wedding for them. Stay tuned for Cassidy and Ben’s wedding coming up on the blog soon!

Kassie’s Bridal Session at Grapevine Botanical Gardens

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on March 21, 2017 in Bridal | No Comments

The Grapevine Botanical Gardens are a wonderful location for photography at any time of year. Kassie was such a trooper for meeting me early in the morning on a Saturday to take her photos. One of my sweet former brides, Kim, even did her hair and makeup! Stay tuned for Kassie and Scott’s wedding in the Rio Grande Valley coming up soon. In the meantime, please enjoy some of my favorite photos from her bridal session.

Don’t you love the vibrant blue flower in her hair?

If you’re on the fence for whether to do a bridal session or not, keep in mind they are always so much fun! If you’re having a hair/makeup trial run with your artist, you may as well treat yourself and have another opportunity to wear “The Dress” after all. I always love helping my brides feel confident and am not beyond helping you into your dress or offering pep talks!

I am a Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton Texas based wedding photographer. I specialize in photographing weddings for bold and free spirited couples.
