Ashley and Geoff’s Southlake Courthouse Wedding

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on September 23, 2017 in Weddings | 2 Comments

Ashley and Geoff’s Southlake courthouse wedding took place on a warm September Friday afternoon. I absolutely love photographing courthouse weddings for many reasons: they’re simply romantic, sweet, and genuine. This was my first time shooting at the Southlake Courthouse  and it’s absolutely a new favorite location because of the beautiful architecture, natural light areas, and the Southlake Town Square to take photos in after! Even in the 95 degree heat (come ON Texas fall!) we were able to quickly take some gorgeous outdoor photos highlighting the area.

+1 bonus for getting to photograph several UTA Alumni!

Gabby’s Aldredge House Bridal Session

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on September 20, 2017 in Bridal | No Comments

Gabby’s bridal session took place at the Historic Aldredge House in Dallas, TX. This historic house was the perfect setting for Gabbys vintage style and dress. I don’t know about y’all, but I love old houses. It really felt like stepping back in time as soon as we arrived, and with plenty of natural light and a grand staircase to work with, I was a very happy photographer. Gabby’s lush bouquet was quite a showstopper as well.

We were honored to photograph her and Collin’s wedding in Hillsboro, TX. I can’t wait to share that post here in a few weeks!

Yes, you read that correctly. We traveled to Hillsboro, TX to photograph Gabby and Collin’s wedding day. In addition to DFW, we’ve photographed weddings in Salado, Waco, and the Rio Grande Valley. Are you getting married in Texas? We’d love to travel to you, near or far!

Wedding photography advice from yours truly along with other great DFW Photographers was featured on Dallas Party Ride‘s website. This was super cool! The post was about how to approach creating a fun and easy wedding photography experience. The question was:

“Wedding photos last forever, every bride and groom wants them to be extra special.  What are some tips that every couple should know about to best capture the special events during the engagement through wedding process?”

Averi and Prince’s Grapevine, Texas Engagement Session

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on September 13, 2017 in Engagement | 1 Comment

It was so nice to meet Averi and Prince for the first time during their Grapevine Texas engagement session. Downtown Grapevine is one of our favorite areas with all of the fun restaurants, bars, and quirky architecture to explore. I also love having a fun downtown area so close to Lewisville. I had a blast getting to know these two and talking all things wine and goofing around a bit. So much fun!

We were also able to end their session at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens which is one of my favorite places to shoot in DFW for many reasons: it’s easy to get to, the light is always gorgeous and it’s free! It provided a great change of of pace and variety in their photos with both an urban and natural setting. And given that it’s the dead of summer while I’m writing this, I’m definitely missing the 70 degree nice weather in February right about now.

Stay tuned for their two-part wedding post coming up!

The Marq Southlake – Lori and Adam’s Wedding Reception

Posted by Melissa Claire Photography on September 6, 2017 in Weddings | No Comments

Lori and Adam’s wedding reception at The Marq Southlake was an absolute blast! I was also very glad to sneak out for a few more bride and groom portraits at golden hour. Their first dance was choreographed to mimic one of their favorite dances from Dancing With the Stars! They even had their favorite ice cream cake shop serve their cake (and it was absolutely delicious). I loved their vibrant pink and orange flowers in the bridal bouquets and in the reception centerpieces. Absolutely stunning! Be sure to scroll down to see one epic dance party and the list of wonderful vendors who made Lori and Adam’s wedding day vision happen.

Oh, and be sure to check out the first part of their wedding day at White’s Chapel UMC!the_marq_southlake_wedding_0036
