Ali and Kyle’s Engagement Session

Nick and I have been very good friends with Ali and Kyle for the past few years given that they also went to UTA (where we first met them) and are both members of Lindby.  Kyle is an excellent bassist/music theorist, and Ali totally rocks some amazing vocals/keys. I could listen to her soulful voice in Deadlights over and over! If you enjoyed that, Ali and Kyle’s musical talents are also featured on Here We Are Now, and Black Coffee. Black Coffee is available for free download, too!

(I highly recommend having the previous songs playing in the background while exploring the rest of this post as the smooth waves of jazz and soul will perfectly accompany the following photos.)

I primarily have photographed Ali and Kyle during Lindby shows, so getting the chance to record their love for each other made this experience that much more special. They are such a joyful, creative, and silly couple, which made for a very comedic and enjoyable shoot.

At Ali and Kyle’s request, we located a fantastic playground in Highland Village known as Kids’ Kastle, which I felt was perfect for their personalities.

No big deal or anything, but there was totally a rocket ship.

And a car!

And a pirate ship! You can just picture hearing Ali declare, “I’m flying, Jack!”

We then had an adventure with off-camera lighting in a small neighborhood park.

Aren’t they just so cute?

Running in the woods! Y’all make it look good. :)

A million thanks to Ali and Kyle for choosing us to record their special day. Nick and I are so excited for your wedding, and I’m going to try my hardest to not be teary-eyed, so I can have a clear view through my view finder!

I so love these Melissa!! I especially loved the Titanic takeoff…that was great!! My favorite of all though is the black and white close up, or maybe the side lit one, or the one on the bridge…I can’t decide…they’re all so beautiful!

I am so glad to hear that! Coming from you that seriously means so much! We will have to get you copies of each of your favorites :) Don’t these two just know how to work a camera, and be adorable? lol

There are many that I like in this collection. I also like the black and white closeup. But I also love the one in color, directly underneath it. My other favorites are the one in the car, where both are smiling…..they look very natural, just having a good time……and the one you took from above, looking down….love that one!! Also, the one on the swing, and the two directly underneath it……love the combination of colors in those…very flattering of both Ali and Kyle…Kyle’s pretty blue eyes really stand out in the one where they are looking at the camera. The night photos….I like the second one, where they are looking at each other, the one on the bridge, and the one with the wood paneling background….they appear more natural than posed to me. Great pics overall! Good work, Melissa!

Thank you so much Becky! I have been learning so much in the ways of posing couples lately, and am so lucky to have patient and understanding friends willing to let me try out all my ideas, while also letting their amazing and charming personalities shine through!
