Katie and Nick’s First Anniversary: The Anniversary of Paper
Katie and Nick are our very dear friends, so when Katie shared her ideas for their first anniversary photos with me, I was so excited to make this happen.
First of all, I can’t believe it’s already been a year! When your best friends get married, their wedding is such a powerful memory that it can literally feel like yesterday. Where is all the time going?
Katie and Nick recently moved into a lovely new house and started raising chickens last spring! I blogged about and photographed the chickens when they were still chicks, but they are all grown up now. We also took family style photos with their sweet cat, J.D.
This beautiful quilt we used as a background was a wedding gift from the wonderful Beki Spurrier. Her blog is amazing, and I highly recommend you check it out. She’s recently been documenting her total knee replacement surgery.
I don’t know how Nick managed to hold on to both chickens at once, but he had a great time doing it!
And Katie with sweet J.D. Aren’t they a precious little family?
Katie is a graphic designer, and she made these cute signs to include in their photos! I’ve linked to her site many times before as she is super talented, and her work is absolutely wonderful.
The Tardis and Flat Karl made an appearance, as well. Nick gave this Tardis cookie jar to Katie as an anniversary gift. I think Doctor Who would be proud. And Flat Karl was a Flat Stanley-type character who joined them on their honeymoon in Hawaii a year ago.
Their wedding cake toppers made an appearance as well! And yes, that is a shark and dinosaur that both have glasses!
We also had to include a sweet dip in their brand new back yard. How romantic!
We then had a silly, fun time with the off camera flash and other amazing props. As we all know: couples that are silly together, stay together!
Katie and Nick, it has been our privilege to know you guys and bear witness to your awesomeness as you conquer life together. Here’s to many more silly anniversary photo shoots for many years!
Isn’t love wonderful?
